We Welcome your Participation
If you are eligible, we invite you to participate in this study to help us evaluate the helpfulness of nursing interventions to improve your ability to care for yourself. Compensation is provided for completion of the study.
We would like you to know that this nursing study does not ask you to change any of your medicines. We do not change any of your medicines.
What Does the Study Involve?

Your involvement in this study would consist of allowing one of us to talk with you for 2-3 hours at the College of Nursing, on the University of Arizona Health Sciences campus.

We will then ask you to place one of your medicines for high blood pressure in a medicine container that we will provide. This container has a special cap that helps us count your medicine. We will ask you to use this container for 4 weeks. At the end of 4 weeks we will meet with you in your home for about 1 hour, and will decide if you are eligible for the longer study.
- If you qualify for the longer study, you will be assigned to one of two groups. You will have a registered nurse visit you in your home each week for 4 weeks. She will talk about high blood pressure.
Costs
There are no costs to you for participating in this study.
