We are looking for a few people who can be our teachers and help us, as nurses, learn how to help older adults stay independent.  One of the issues that is important as we age is the ability to manage a chronic illness.  We are interested in older adults who have hypertension and are taking at least one medication for high blood pressure.  We want to see if a nurse-delivered intervention will improve health for the people who receive this intervention.

You might be eligible to participate if:

• you are 65 years of age or older
  
  
• you can read and understand spoken English
  
  
• your health care provider has prescribed at least one medication for high blood pressure
  
  
• you are independent and care for yourself
